Belgian midfielder still finding his feet with Wolves

Wolves midfielder Jelle Van Damme admitted he was happy to score, but disappointed to see his first goal count for little at they were beaten 2-1 at Fulham on Saturday. The Belgium international gave the away side the lead early in the match with a cool finish from close range to break his duck after moving from Anderlecht to Molineux this summer. However, his effort was to be in vain as his opener was cancelled out thanks to Fulham new-boy and Belgium team-mate Moussa Dembele's double. "I was very happy to get the goal but at the end of it we didn't get any points, which was disappointing. It would have been a very good point from Fulham but we conceded a silly goal," Van Damme told the club's official website. Van Damme was taken off at half-time by manager Mick McCarthy, with the 26-year-old, who had a brief spell at Southampton earlier in his career, stating that he was still adjusting to life in the Premier League. "I'm still adapting to the game over here and the pace of it - the gaffer knows that and I know it, he added. "I'm the type of guy who is always looking for better from myself and I'm never satisfied. Spurs is another difficult away game and I'll be working all week to try and be involved in that one."
