Break could benefit Henry

Molineux boss takes positives from captain's absence

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy feels it might do Karl Henry good to miss three games for the club through suspension. Captain Henry is banned after being shown a straight red card in last weekend's 2-0 defeat to Wigan for a reckless challenge on Jordi Gomez. The 27-year-old has since apologised for his moment of madness, but McCarthy remains far from happy at how the spotlight has been directed on his skipper. The Molineux boss feel Henry could benefit from some time away from the limelight and wants the furore over his style of play to die down.

Benefit

"Although it won't help us, it might do him good to have three games off actually," said McCarthy. "I've been annoyed by how the hype has been kept going. "Karl, in his wisdom, tried to help them by giving them quotes to quench the thirst of the media, but it didn't. "The more you try to defuse it by what you say, it doesn't work. I know. I find the best thing to do is keep quiet."
