Former Saints star handed academy role
Aldershot have confirmed that caretaker manager Jason Dodd will leave the club to return to former club Southampton after this weekend's FA Cup tie with Bury.
Dodd has been in charge of the Shots since Gary Waddock left for Wycombe last month and was in the running for the job on a permanent basis but has now decided to take up a role of academy development manager with the Saints.
Acting Aldershot chairman John Leppard said: "We are aware of Jason's situation and wish him well in his future role at Southampton.
"Jason will be preparing the team this week and taking charge on Saturday before he leaves the club.
"I can confirm that we are hoping to be in a position to name the new permanent manager in the next couple of days."
