The first British astronaut to join the European Space Agency is taking a Stoke City flag into orbit for some fans of the club.

Tim Peake has agreed to tweet a picture of it after he docks at the International Space Station following 18 months of lobbying from supporters.

The 43-year-old will also attempt to become the first person to run a marathon in space during his 173-day mission.

Mr Peake will try to run a digital version of next year's London Marathon on a treadmill at the same time as more than 37,000 people take part in the event for real on April 24.
