Midfielder happy to drop down to League One

Diego Arismendi insists he has no qualms in dropping down to League One and is looking forward to playing under Gus Poyet at Brighton & Hove Albion. The Uruguay international has joined Brighton on loan for the rest of the season after making just two Carling Cup appearances since joining Stoke City last summer. The midfielder admits compatriot Poyet was the reason he accepted a move to the Withdean Stadium and he is keen to make the most of his opportunity with the Seagulls. "I came here because Gus Poyet is Uruguayan and I think I will improve more as a player, so it's a new opportunity for me," the 22-year-old told the club's official website. "The Premier League is the best league in the world with the best players, but I am looking forward to playing in League One. "It's difficult at Stoke because they have some very good international players and I have had trouble with understanding what the gaffer wants. "I haven't had the opportunity at Stoke and I'm very happy to be here, so I am looking forward to playing when Gus wants to use me. "I knew nothing about Brighton before Gus called me, so I researched the city and team on the internet and I like the way Gus plays, because he tries to play good football."
