Potters insists Shawcross and Huth going nowhere
Stoke director of football John Rudge insists there is "no way" Stoke want to sell either Robert Huth or Ryan Shawcross.
There has been speculation over the futures of Shawcross and Huth with Stoke in the market for defensive reinforcements.
As revealed by
skysports.com earlier this month, the Potters have made a move for Birmingham defender Scott Dann.
However, Rudge claims any possible arrival of Dann will not mean the club will be losing either Shawcross or Huth.
Strengthen
"We are looking for another defender, as that is an area we feel we need to strengthen at the moment," Rudge told
The Sentinel.
"It's nothing to do with Ryan or Robert leaving, it's because Abdoulaye Faye has left the club.
"They (Shawcross and Huth) are both good lads and good players, so you would be reluctant to do anything with them because they can be the future of this football club.
"They are also a decent age, so there's no way you would want to lose them."
