Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen is resigned to playing second fiddle to Asmir Begovic in the Premier League despite his impressive performance against Liverpool on Wednesday.
Sorensen featured in the Potters' Carling Cup fourth round tie against Kenny Dalglish's side at the Britannia Stadium.
Although the 35-year-old conceded twice in Stoke's 2-1 loss, he made a number of saves including one from Luis Suarez.
However, Sorensen admits that he does not expect manager Tony Pulis to field him in their home game against Newcastle United in the Premier League next Monday.
"That's how it appears to be, but we have the game in Israel next Thursday (against Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the Europa League), so I will be playing a game next week for sure," the Denmark international told Stoke's
official website.
"I'm not going to stand here and say I don't want to be playing Premier League games week in, week out because I do, but all I can do is do my best when my chance comes along and keep showing the manager what I am capable of.
"I'm enjoying the games I am playing and I think my form has been pretty good. But the manager has three very good goalkeepers to choose from, and with the amount of games we have he is always going to change it around."
Sorensen has not played in a single league match for Stoke this season but has taken part in two Carling Cup matches and all three Europa League group stage fixtures.
