Perth move for Irishman after Us exit
St Johnstone have swooped to sign Alan Maybury after the defender was told he was free to leave Colchester United.
Maybury, 32, spent last season at the Us but was informed by manager John Ward he was surplus to requirements at the Community Stadium.
And SPL side St Johnstone have made the most of the opportunity to capture the Irishman's services, who will provide cover for manager Derek McInnes for the rest of the season.
McInnes is already missing full-backs Dave Mackay and Danny Grainger through injury and has Steven Anderson absent for Saturday's clash against Aberdeen through suspension.
Maybury is likely to go straight into the squad for the clash against the Dons should he receive international clearance in time.
The former Leeds, Hearts and Leicester man spent a short spell on loan at Pittodrie in 2008.
