Ward happy to help former Us captain maintain his fitness
Colchester United have confirmed former captain Karl Duguid is training with the club following his release from Plymouth Argyle.
Duguid left cash-strapped Plymouth at the end of last season and has joined Colchester for pre-season training to maintain his fitness.
The 33-year-old is looking for a new club and Us boss John Ward is happy to offer the midfielder the chance to stay in shape.
"Karl had spoken to Joe Dunne about joining us for training and I had no problems with that," Ward told the
official website.
"He's a good character to have around the place and we always try to look after our former players where we can."
Duguid made over 440 appearances for Colchester during his first spell at the club before leaving for Plymouth in 2008.
