Colchester United sign Darren Ambrose

Darren Ambrose has agreed to join Colchester on a one-year deal.
The 31-year-old, who has three spells at Ipswich and featured for the likes of Newcastle and Crystal Palace, was a free agent following his release from Portman Road.
Ambrose actually played against Tony Humes' men last month in a pre-season friendly for Ipswich and it is hoped his summer work with Mick McCarthy's squad means he is ready for the Football League's kick-off this weekend.
