Sheffield Wednesday vs Rotherham preview
Friday 7 December 2018 12:19, UK
Sheffield Wednesday striker Fernando Forestieri will miss the home game against Rotherham after being ruled out for six weeks.
The 28-year-old tore his hamstring after stepping off the bench in last week's defeat at Blackburn and scans have revealed the full extent of the damage.
Fellow striker Steven Fletcher will be assessed. The Scot, replaced at half-time against Blackburn, recently complained of dizziness and is also managing a knee problem. Defender Ash Baker is back in contention after serving a one-game ban, but Sam Winnall (hamstring), Kieran Lee (knee) and Gary Hooper (groin) are still out.
Rotherham boss Paul Warne will assess four players who have been nursing knocks this weeks. Defender Clark Robertson, midfielders Joe Newell and Matty Palmer, plus forward Kyle Vassell have all missed training, but Warne is hoping at least two could feature.
Defender Sean Raggett is edging closer to his return following ankle surgery but is not yet ready. Midfielder Darren Potter remains another long-term absentee as he is recovering from an ankle injury.
