New Owls owner hopes for rapid progress

Milan Mandaric has outlined his ambitious plans to return Sheffield Wednesday to the Premier League. The former Portsmouth and Leicester chairman recently completed a takeover of the League One club, pulling them back from the brink of extension. He will officially inherit the reins at Hillsborough on 15th December and intends to have the club taking positive strides from the off. Mandaric is keen to see the Owls back in the top flight as soon as possible and sees no reason why they cannot be back among England's elite inside four years.

Serious business

"I want to be the owner and chairman of a Premier League club again, and I shall not be leaving England until I have achieved that aim," he said. "I am not taking over Sheffield Wednesday as a hobby. This is a cruel and serious business. "If you do it right you get your rewards, but if you do it wrong you get punished. "The first priority is to get out of League One and once we have done that we aim for the Premier League."
