McMAHON: WHO IS MARK BONNER?
BLACKPOOL boss Steve McMahon has dismissed suggestions that he was set to bring Mark Bonner back to Bloomfield Road, insisting that he was not initially aware of who he was.
The Ormskirk-born defender started his career with The Seasiders and made almost 200 appearances in a six-year stay on the West Coast before making the move to Cardiff.
Bonner made 29 appearances for The Bluebirds last term, but had a brief spell on loan with Hull at the turn of the year after losing his place due to injury.
Reports had suggested that he was set for a return to Blackpool, but McMahon (pictured) quickly poured cold water on the rumour, saying: "I was not aware of who Mark Bonner was and am certainly not looking to bring him back to Bloomfield Road."
