Plymouth have signed Lionel Ainsworth on a free transfer, subject to paperwork.
The 29-year-old winger arrives at Home Park after turning down a new contract at Scottish Premiership side Motherwell. The length of the deal has not been confirmed.
The Fir Park club tweeted: "Lionel Ainsworth has informed the club he won't take up our offer & will instead join @Only1Argyle. Good luck Lionel, thanks for everything."
Ainsworth made 138 appearances for the Steelmen, scoring 27 goals following his arrival in 2013, but now heads for the newly-promoted League One club.
The much-travelled midfielder has had spells at Bournemouth, Halifax,
Wycombe, Hereford, Watford, Huddersfield, Shrewsbury, Burton, Rotherham and Aldershot.
