James Tomkins is "okay" despite leaving Selhurst Park on crutches on Sunday, says Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish.

The £10m signing from Premier League rivals West Ham United was forced off at half-time with a knee injury while making his full top-flight debut for Palace against Stoke City on Sunday.

Tomkins scored inside nine minutes for Alan Pardew's side, who secured back-to-back wins in the league for the first time this season with a 4-1 victory against Mark Hughes' Stok

Having already lost on-loan striker Loic Remy to injury, Parish has confirmed Tomkins' knock is not as bad as it first looked.

"We need some more luck than we had with injuries last year," Parish told The Sun

"We've had some good news with Tomkins this week because it looks like his knee's okay although he went off at half-time.

"We've had a bit of a bad run with injuries, so hopefully our luck's about to turn."
