Eagles and Lilywhites go head-to-head in basement battle

Crystal Palace will be looking to drag Preston North End into the relegation dogfight on Monday. The Eagles currently occupy a standing inside the Championship's bottom three, but are just a point adrift of safety. The Lilywhites appeared to be heading towards a solid mid-table finish at one stage, but a five-match winless run has seen them slip back into trouble.

Palace team news

Crystal Palace welcome back defenders Clint Hill and Lee Hills for the crunch clash. Hill has served a two-match ban for picking up 10 yellow cards and is available again. Hills missed Saturday's 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough after being sent off in the closing stages at Watford last week, but the youngster is also back in contention for Monday's game. Captain Shaun Derry came through the full 90 minutes at the Riverside and looks to have shrugged off a hip injury. Nathaniel Clyne is still out with a hip problem of his own and fellow right-back Danny Butterfield has a hamstring injury, causing a defensive headache for Paul Hart.
Preston team news
Preston boss Darren Ferguson looks set to be without midfielder Chris Sedgwick for the trip to Selhurst Park. The 29-year-old limped out of Saturday's 1-1 draw against Watford with a knee injury so Keith Treacy could deputise, while Paul Parry (tendonitis) and Barry Nicholson (broken leg) are still on the sidelines. Prior to Saturday's game, Ferguson warned his players they are not safe from relegation yet and he will be hoping they can take a step towards securing second tier safety.
