Cherries chief tops Palace's wishlist for managerial vacancy

Skysports.com understands Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is Crystal Palace's first choice to succeed George Burley. Howe is one of the hottest properties on the managerial front having worked miracles at Bournemouth on a shoestring budget. The 32-year-old saved the Cherries from relegation in his first season before guiding the club to promotion to League One last term despite having a transfer embargo imposed on the club preventing him from making any signings. Howe's style of football at Dean Court has won him a host of admirers throughout the Football League with Peterborough and Southampton both failing to lure him over the last 12 months.

Admirers

His achievements have led to other clubs making enquiries about his services and managerless duo Palace and Burnley are both thought to have joined his list of admirers. Howe is thought to feature high on Burnley's shortlist as they look to find a successor to Brian Laws following his sacking last month. However, Palace are believed to have made an approach to Bournemouth to speak to Howe as they search for a replacement for Burley and they have made him their top target to take over at Selhurst Park. Bournemouth are reluctant to lose Howe with the Cherries sitting in third spot in League One, but with the young manager's reputation continuing to soar they face a massive battle to keep the in-demand boss.
