Crystal Palace have signed QPR midfielder Gavin Mahon on loan for the remainder of the season.

Midfielder keen to help Freedman's squad as much as possible

Crystal Palace have signed Queens Park Rangers' veteran midfielder Gavin Mahon on loan for the remainder of the season. Mahon has not made a first-team appearance since November 2009 due to a knee injury and had been on a series of month-to-month deals at QPR. The 34-year-old now has the chance to play a part in Palace's Championship survival bid and is keen to help Dougie Freedman's side in any way he can. "I'm very pleased to have joined," Mahon told the club's official website. "It's been stop-start for me this season and I need to be playing and in and amongst the first team. "If I can give some input off the pitch as well as on it that would be great." Mahon is likely to be in contention for Palace's first game after the international break against Barnsley on 2nd April.
