Potters defender poised to make Eagles switch
Skysports.com understands Andrew Davies is to join Crystal Palace on a short-term loan deal.
The Stoke defender is expected to move to Selhurst Park on an initial one-month agreement.
There will, however, be the option for his stay to be extended should all parties wish to do so.
It is understood that a switch will be pushed through on Thursday, giving Davies chance to get to know his new team-mates before the 2011/12 Championship season kicks off this weekend.
Experience
The 26-year-old has plenty of prior experience of life in the second tier, having previously taken in a number of loan spells at that level.
He has turned out for the likes of Queens Park Rangers, Derby, Preston, Sheffield United and Middlesbrough.
The former England U21 international began his career on Teesside, before making a move to Southampton in 2008.
He was snapped up shortly afterwards by Stoke, following their promotion to the Premier League, but he has struggled to hold down a regular role during his time with the Potters.
