Ipswich defender Josh Emmanuel is open to the idea of heading out on loan.

Emmanuel is highly rated by Tractor Boys boss Mick McCarthy but, with only five first-team appearances this year, there is a chance he could be made available on a short-term basis.

"Going out on loan is something I would certainly consider if it was right for me and it was right for the manager," Emmanuel said in an interview to be published in the matchday programme.

"I know he's spoken about possibly sending myself and a few of the young lads out on loan for some more competitive experience if and when the time is right and, if it's the right club, then of course, I would be more than happy if it's best for everyone."
