Both managers content with honours even

Roy Keane treated Ipswich's 1-1 draw with Leicester a point gained but he thought his side should have closed out the game after a dream start. The Tractor Boys took the lead within 18 seconds as Foxes defender Ryan McGivern turned the ball into his own net but the Blues were denied their third successive win as Steve Howard's equaliser saw the points shared on Sunday. And Keane, whose side have now lost just once in their last 14 games, was happy enough to return to East Anglia a point to their name. "Because we've had such a poor start to the season it's victories we're after but Leicester are having a good season and maybe it's a point gained. "We probably had the best of the chances but our 'keeper probably pulled off the best save but I think we could have done better." "I think we had the ideal start but we not scored enough goals this season and I think we got the balance wrong in terms of when we were 1-0 up - I think we should have kept the ball better and we played too many long balls.

Merit

Connor Wickham impressed on his first start since August and Keane felt the 16-year-old justified his inclusion on the starting XI. "Connor's there on merit he's been training well and he earned the right to start today. "He's got a chance of being a top player but he's learning his trade and I thought he did well today coming up against two good centre-halves. Keane revealed Ipswich has made one or two enquires over new players but he doesn't expect too much business at Portman Road in the January transfer window. "I've got a big squad and lot of good players who didn't even travel so I want to be careful and if we do bring one or two they would have to be of real quality and to bring that in January is really difficult.
Scrappy
Leicester boss Nigel was content with a point after Leicester came back to draw with Ipswich but wants his side to find their feet soon if they are to continue to fly high in the Championship. The Foxes tactician thought his side showed character to come back through Howard's 38th minute strike but claims his side are struggling to cope with the standards they have set this season. "I don't think we were anywhere near our best today and it was a scrappy game," said Pearson, who's promoted side remain fifth and firmly in the hunt for a play-off finish. "To concede a goal so early in the game put us on edge and we didn't do ourselves justice. "I thought they came with a game-plan - they wanted to slow it down - but I think overall I'll take a point because we have been well below par today.
