Austrian in talks
Austria international Andreas Dober is hoping to seal a move to Britain this week,
skysports.com can reveal.
The 25-year-old defender is a free agent after leaving his former club Rapid Vienna at the end of last season.
He is currently keeping fit in Austria, but talks are ongoing with a number of British clubs.
Skysports.com understands there is interest from the Premier League, Championship and SPL.
In recent weeks, the likes of Ipswich, Watford and Nottingham Forest have been linked and his representative Sascha Empacher confirmed that he was hopeful a deal would be in place this week.
"We have been talking to a number of clubs in recent weeks, the interest is strong," he confirmed to
skysports.com.
"There are not many players around with his quality on a free, he is an international with Champions League experience.
"We are hoping something will be decided this week, we cannot say who we are talking with as that is confidential but they are in England and Scotland."
