Nik the Greek earns call-up
BURNLEY'S Nik Michopoulos has earned himself a call-up to the Greek national side, after an impressive season for The Clarets.
Michopoulos has been in the international wilderness since 1999, but his career has picked up since trying his hand in England - and his form has impressed enough to earn a recall.
At 32, the recall came as something of a surprise to Michopoulos, who must have thought his chance of adding to his 13 caps had gone.
The custodian was delighted by the news, admitting to Burnley's official website that he has received a call out of the blue at the weekend.
"I am very pleased about this and it is good news," said the goalkeeper.
"It is great for me, for Greece and for Burnley."
