Chairman staying positive as search continues for new manager

Burnley chairman Barry Kilby is embracing a positive outlook as the club continue their search for a new manager. The Clarets have confirmed they have already held talks with a number of candidates in line to replace Owen Coyle. Hoping to unveil his replacement before the trip to Manchester United at the weekend, Kilby admits he 'feels good' about what the future holds for the club. Burnley confirmed on Monday that interviews have been on 'ongoing' but have so far refused to name any candidates.

No rush

"It's been a turbulent few days in the history of Burnley Football Club," Kilby told the club's official website. "But sometimes these things happen for a purpose, so let's all pull together and work as one for the betterment of this. "When I think back to November 2007 and the appointment of Owen, I remember feeling good about the future. "I have that same feeling again now as we concentrate on replacing him." Huddersfield boss Lee Clark, Doncaster's Sean O'Driscoll and former Sheffield Wednesday chief Brian Laws are all said to have held talks this week with the club. Leeds boss Simon Grayson has also been touted as a possible replacement to Coyle after a sterling season at Elland Road.
Budget
Although staying tight-lipped on a possible replacement, Kilby said that the club must still stick to their budget. "Ultimately, we did all we could to keep Owen here as our manager and that was not enough," he added. "But I am not going to throw away all we have achieved by offering up funds we simply cannot afford."
