Kyle Lafferty says he may be forced to quit Norwich for the sake of Northern Ireland's Euro 2016 campaign.
The striker's seven goals were a huge factor in the Irish qualifying for their first major tournament since 1986, but he has struggled to get a look-in this season at club level.
Norwich boss Alex Neil has used Lafferty just twice - both times as a substitute - since the player returned from a loan spell in Turkey.
And Lafferty, quoted in the Sunday Mirror, said: "I took an option to go out on loan in the second half of last season and maybe it's backfired. It put me out of the picture for a while.
"The only thing I can do is keep scoring goals for my country and make an impact for Norwich. If it is time to leave I'll take the opportunity.
"There's no point in me sitting in the stands or playing for 15 minutes when there's a massive tournament coming."
Neil has started Cameron Jerome as a lone striker in all but one of Norwich's league games this season, and Lafferty is also competing with Lewis Grabban, Gary Hooper and Dieumerci Mbokani.
"I'll give it until January then sit down with the boss," he said. "Cameron Jerome is doing a fantastic job, but I can too."
