Goodwin could return for Latics, Johnson pushing for Canaries start

Oldham boss Dave Penney will assess the fitness of Jim Goodwin ahead of Saturday's home clash with League One leaders Norwich. The on-loan Huddersfield midfielder has missed the last two games due to a thigh strain. Penney is still missing a number of long-term injury absentees, including Andy Holdsworth, Rob Purdie and Jon Worthington. Millwall striker Jason Price's one-month loan with Oldham is set to finish after this weekend's game but an extension is expected to be agreed early next week. The Latics have slipped into the bottom four following defeats at Colchester and Leeds over the last week.

Norwich news

Norwich forward Oli Johnson could be handed just his second start for the Canaries at Boundary Park. Johnson, a January signing from Stockport, came off the bench at home to Southend on Tuesday and scored two late goals to give Norwich a 2-1 win. Winger Anthony McNamee could keep his place after making his first start since also being signed by Paul Lambert in the transfer window from Swindon. Midfielder Darel Russell will serve the second of a three-game suspension while defenders Jens Berthel Askou (foot), Adam Drury (thigh) and Zak Whitbread (calf) remain sidelined along with striker Cody McDonald (thigh). Before the weekend's fixtures, Norwich are three points clear of Leeds and have a game in hand over the Yorkshire outfit.
