Canaries face Clarets in cup clash at Carrow Road
The FA Cup will not be a top priority for Norwich or Burnley this season, but they will be keen to make their way into round four on Saturday.
Remaining in the Premier League is the target for the Canaries this term, and they are well on their way to achieving that goal.
A productive first half to the season has provided a bit of breathing space at Carrow Road, and means a cup run would not become an unwelcome distraction.
Games do add up, though, the further you progress and Paul Lambert must decide how seriously he will be taking the competition.
Burnley boss Eddie Howe faces a similar dilemma, with the Clarets setting their sights on a return to the top flight.
They sit just three points adrift of the Championship play-off places at present and are determined to end the campaign inside the top six.
An early exit from the cup would not be considered a disaster at Turf Moor, but Premier League scalps are always welcome and Howe will have his side set up to clip the Canaries' wings.
Defenders missing
Norwich will be without defender Marc Tierney this weekend.
On-loan Manchester United man Ritchie de Laet is also missing as he is nursing a back problem.
Elliott Ward and James Vaughan (both knee) are recovering well but are not yet ready for a first-team return, while Korey Smith has a thigh strain.
Kyle Naughton, who is on loan from Tottenham, is ineligible due to the terms of his loan agreement.
Trippier banned
Burnley will be without full-back Kieran Trippier when they travel to Norfolk.
Trippier serves a one-match ban following his dismissal in the 2-1 defeat by Leeds on Monday, although consolation arrived for the 21-year-old later in the week in the form of a permanent move to Turf Moor from Manchester City and a nomination for the Championship Player of the Month award.
Trippier's fellow defender Michael Duff missed the trip to Elland Road and remains a doubt with a hamstring problem.
Midfield duo Marvin Bartley and Keith Treacy have been laid low with illness this week, although they resumed training on Thursday and Howe expects to have the pair at his disposal at Carrow Road.
