Norwich boss feels defender is now realising all his potential
Dani Ayala is a superstar in the making according to Norwich City boss Paul Lambert after yet another stunning display at the back.
The 21-year-old Spaniard has impressed his manager by the way he fought back from some early setbacks to cement his place in the first team.
After three months on the sidelines through injury the defender returned in Norwich's 1-1 draw with Fulham and remained in the heart of the defence in the following wins over QPR and Burnley.
And Lambert believes the centre-back will continue to get better with every game that he plays.
Delighted
"He is going to have a massive future in the game," said Lambert. "I thought he was very good against Burnley.
"For 21 years of age he has slotted in seamlessly as if he has been here for years and years.
"I am delighted with Dani. It is great for him at his age now to be getting regular first-team football and becoming more comfortable playing in front of big crowds."
A summer signing from Liverpool, Ayala has formed a rock solid defensive partnership with another former Red, Zak Whitbread, who swapped Anfield for Carrow Road via Millwall's Den.
"Zak is another quality player," added Lambert. "He has been a bit unlucky with injuries here but every time he has played he looks really accomplished. I think Dani and him look capable of playing really well together."
