Norwich boss has also spoken to Drury about his future
Paul Lambert did not want to discuss Grant Holt's future at Norwich City, but confirmed he had spoken to Adam Drury regarding his situation.
Canaries captain Holt stunned the club last week by handing in a transfer request after scoring 15 goals in the Premier League following last year's promotion.
The request was quickly rejected by Norwich following speculation that, like his manager Lambert, the experienced forward is a target for Aston Villa.
Holt started for Norwich on Tuesday evening in team-mate Drury's testimonial match against Celtic and Lambert refused to be drawn on the speculation after the game.
Jump to conclusions
"There is no point asking me. I am telling you I am not answering it. I know what is going on but this is Adam's game," Lambert said in the post-match press conference.
"It is not about Grant, it is not about me, it is about Adam Drury.
"This isn't the night for those questions. Don't ask me negative things about me or Grant.
"I am delighted I am at Norwich if that is what you are asking.
"I have never said a word that I want to get away. Not a thing and people jump to conclusions about what I say or don't say."
Drury, 33, joined the Canaries from Peterborough in March 2001, going on to captain the club when they were promoted to the Premier League under Nigel Worthington, then remaining loyal when Norwich sank down to League One three years ago.
Chat
However, the full-back has yet to discover whether he will be given a contract extension for next season, having helped Lambert's side retain their top-flight status.
Lambert was giving little away, saying: "I have had a chat with him and he knows what is going on.
"Adam is thinking about a few things and I will see what he thinks in the next few days, I am sure."
