Canaries recruit highly-rated goalkeeping coach from Birmingham
Dave Watson has teamed up with Chris Hughton again after moving to Norwich City as goalkeeping coach.
The pair worked together at Birmingham City before Hughton moved to Carrow Road earlier this summer.
Watson became
part of Roy Hodgson's backroom team for Euro 2012, having worked with England's first-choice keeper Joe Hart during his loan spell at St Andrew's in 2009/10.
A former England Under-21 international, Watson moved into coaching after being forced to retire through injury at the age of 28. He had stints with Oldham, Huddersfield, Northampton and Nottingham Forest before joining Blues in 2008.
Delighted
Hughton is delighted to have recruited Watson, telling the Canaries'
official website: "He's someone I was aware of before I joined Birmingham and having had the opportunity to work with him last year it was no surprise to me that England wanted to involve him.
"He's someone I have been keen to bring here with us since the moment I joined so it's pleasing to have agreed things and now he can start work with the rest of us on Monday."
Watson is relishing the prospect of working in the top flight once again, saying: "Having worked in the Premier League previously and having been involved with the England set-up during the summer, I knew that the opportunity to work in the top flight again was something that I just couldn't turn down.
"Through my time with England I've already worked with John Ruddy and Jed Steer and I know a lot about Declan Rudd by reputation, so I can't wait to start working with them."
