Jonny Howson says Norwich must control their emotions in the Sky Bet Championship play-off semi-final second leg against Ipswich at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Howson handed the Canaries a 41st-minute lead in the first leg at Portman Road before Paul Anderson levelled in first-half injury time to leave the tie delicately poised.

Howson told Norwich City TV: "These games are always going to be tight, which shows how much both sets of players want it.

"Each team has performed well over the course of the season which is why we're in this position. We're at the halfway point now and it's still there for us.

"As much as we were coming for the win, the most important thing was we didn't throw it away. It's all to play for at Carrow Road.

"It's just down to one game now. Our focus goes on that and we'll start preparing to give us the best shot.

"For us, as players, the bottom line is we've got to play as we would any other game. It can be difficult at times with the atmosphere and the build-up but you've got to play with a cool head as well.

"We've got to go about it in the right way. You want to play with passion but every player in that dressing room will do whatever the manager asks of us."
