Coventry City could face action from the Football Association after a number of their fans ran on to the pitch during Monday's 1-1 draw with Chesterfield.
Home goalkeeper Tommy Lee was accosted by one of the visiting supporters and he reacted by throwing the man to the floor.
An 18-year-old man from Coventry was arrested and has been charged to appear at Northern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court in Chesterfield on January 22.
The pitch invasion, which police claimed involved around 100 fans, occurred after the Sky Blues levelled the scores in the 89th minute.
Coventry, whose manager Tony Mowbray was sent to the stands for arguing with the referee shortly before the equaliser, issued a statement on their website reminding fans about their conduct in the future.
"The club would like to strongly remind all supporters to stay off the field of play following the events at Chesterfield yesterday," the statement read.
"Whilst we understand the excitement around the goal and the celebrations after, fans must stay off the pitch at all times to not endanger any players on the field of play.
"A small minority of our supporters entered the pitch following James Maddison's goal and we ask all supporters to refrain from this sort of behaviour in the future as the club could face action from the FA.
"Also, we'd like to thank the vast majority of our supporters who represented the Sky Blues in excellent fashion at the Proact Stadium yesterday."
