Coventry City have rejected two bids from Reading for their striker Marc McNulty, Sky Sports News understands.
The 25-year old Scot scored 28 goals in all competitions last season, as he helped Coventry achieve promotion to League One via the play-offs.
Reading's second bid was understood to be in excess of £500,000.
The figure falls well short of the valuation Coventry have for the former Sheffield United frontman, who they want to lead their attack in League One next season.
McNulty was man of the match in the 3-1 win over Exeter in the play-off final at Wembley and scored in both legs of the semi-final against Notts County.
