Plymouth have signed midfielder Josh Simpson from Crawley. The 28-year-old, who rejected the offer of a new contract with the Reds, has agreed a one-year deal at Home Park.

Simpson played for Cambridge City, Cambridge United and Histon before earning a move to Peterborough.

He joined Crawley in January 2011 and helped them to back-to-back promotions to League One. However, Simpson suffered an injury hit season last term as Crawley suffered relegation back to the basement division.
