QPR 1-1 Huddersfield: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes R's are doing the 'right things'

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink insisted QPR are "doing things right" despite the 1-1 draw at home to Huddersfield leaving them still waiting for their first win under the Dutchman.
Rangers, in their fifth match since Hasselbaink took over as manager, struggled without injured top scorer Charlie Austin. They played without a recognised striker until the second-half introduction of Sebastian Polter, who opened the scoring with 10 minutes remaining.
Nahki Wells equalised with a stunning free-kick five minutes later to rescue a deserved point for Huddersfield, who were the better side in the first half.
"We're very disappointed. I think the boys just need a win," said Hasselbaink. "I'm not really thinking about myself, it's more for the boys - I want this for them. I can't fault them, even for the first half, because they are working hard.
"We are doing things right. It didn't look like it in the first half because we were under the cosh, but Huddersfield didn't create a chance - all their play was in their half.
"Huddersfield were the better team in the first half and they made it difficult for us. We had to change the shape and did that, and after that I thought it was a lot better.
"In the second half we looked very good - a lot better - and scored but couldn't hold on."
The result meant Rangers, who host Hull on New Year's Day, remained 12th in the Sky Bet Championship table.
"We are in a little corner that only we can get out of," Hasselbaink added. "We are doing things well, it's just about getting over the line.
"We are getting our noses in front, we just need to stay in front and keep going. We take the point and move on. We are in a little bit of a storm that we are trying to get out of. We just need to keep on going."
Huddersfield boss David Wagner hailed Wells, whose brilliant strike was his eighth goal of the season and his third in two matches.
"He scored a very good goal and did a very good job today," Wagner said. "He had a very good chance with a header in the first half as well.
"At the moment he is very confident and that is very important for a striker. But more important for me is that he likes to work. He is our first defender and he showed that again today."
"I think a point was the least we deserved for this performance. The first half was very good from my team and after that we could have expected more than a point. But it was a good reaction (to going behind) and in the end a point was fair.
"It may only be one point today, but I am pleased we have shown people what we can do on the pitch. Everybody in the squad knows how important they are. I expect everyone to give 100 per cent when on the pitch and at the moment they are.
"I have been here for seven weeks now and the players have responded very well."
