Crewe cut down Rangers

Crewe kept alive their slim survival hopes with a 2-1 win at Queens Park Rangers.

QPR missed a great chance to draw level on 55 minutes when Ainsworth failed to net from Mauro Milanese's cross.

The home side continued to push forward, but they could not find a way past a resolute Crewe defence.

Crewe punished QPR on the break on 74 minutes when substitute Vaughan drilled a shot home from inside the box.

Ainsworth grabbed a consolation for Rangers in the dying seconds with a close-range volley, but Crewe held on for the three points.
