Italian striker deemed as surplus to requirements at Loftus Road

Alessandro Pellicori has left QPR and joined Italian outfit Torino on a loan deal. The 29-year-old striker signed for the Loftus Road club back in July 2009 but manager Neil Warnock has deemed the former Lecce player as surplus to requirements. Former boss Jim Magilton signed Pellicori on a three-year deal from Avellino, but the forward only scored one goal in his 10 appearances for the West London club. Pellicori was loaned out to Mantova in January where he scored eight goals in 17 appearances. The Italian, who has failed to settle in England, has now joined the Serie B side on a season-long loan deal. Pellicori began his career at Cosenza and has had spells at Lecce - for whom he played in Serie A - Grosseto, Piacenza, Cesena and Avellino.
