Queens Park Rangers assistant manager Mark Bowen admits the capital outfit will need to improve their away form if they are to steer clear of trouble in 2012/13.
The Rs tasted success just three times on their travels last season, with only 11 points picked up on the road.
Unsurprisingly, they found themselves locked in a basement battle and ended up beating the drop by a solitary point.
On the day that the fixture lists were announced for the new Premier League season, Bowen concedes that Mark Hughes' men will need to raise their game if they are to avoid a repeat of their struggles from last term.
"The away form is something that the boss, the staff and the players know needs addressing," he told the club's
official website.
"It has to change and it has to improve and that will be in everyone's mind when the season starts.
"We know what we and the fans can produce at home, but we need to replicate that away from Loftus Road.
"If we want to push on as a club we need to address it as soon as possible."
Testing
QPR will open the new season with a home date against Swansea City on 18th August.
"Obviously it's great to have a home fixture on the opening weekend," said Bowen.
"It's brilliant for the fans, as well as the players, so we'll be looking to get off to a good start."
After facing the Swans, QPR travel to Norwich before taking in mouth-watering fixtures against Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Bowen added: "We'll need to get some points on the board from those first two games, because the next three are very tough on paper.
"But that's the Premier League in a nutshell. It's a cliché, but there are no easy games at all in this division, which is why it's one of the best in the world."
