Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare will wait until Tuesday morning before deciding whether Wes Morgan will play against Atletico Madrid

Leicester City will make a decision on Wes Morgan's fitness for the Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid on the morning of the game.

The centre-back has trained for the past three sessions with the Foxes squad and has gradually increased his intensity with each one, but a final verdict will be delivered on Tuesday morning.

Morgan missed the first leg - which the Spanish side won 1-0 - with an ongoing back problem but could be available for the return fixture at the King Power Stadium.

Atletico are strong favourites to go through the tie, but Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare is confident his players can upset the odds.

"They've got it wrong in the past, let's hope they've got it wrong this time too," Shakespeare told Sky Sports News HQ.

"Christian (Fuchs) said we go into the game as underdogs - he's right - but let's see if we can surprise a few people, and earn people a few bob."

Shakespeare has warned the Foxes against falling for Madrid's gamesmanship.

Morgan watched on in Madrid with Atletico boss Diego Simeone and the hosts keen to see Jamie Vardy booked - which would have forced him out of the second leg - while sports scientist Tom Joel was sent from the dugout after the Atletico bench complained when he tried to hand out water to Marc Albrighton.

He said: "Our players have to be smart, we have to take our own house and get that in order, we can't worry about the opposition's bench - we'll let the officials take care of that.

"We have to be mindful in terms of us being smart and our game management has to be good. We have to be aware of all those things. Ultimately we have to get our own house in order."
