Croatian goalkeeper Vedran Runje will not be signing for Leicester City following Sven Goran Eriksson's departure.
The 35-year-old former Croatia international was training with The Foxes, as Eriksson looked to bring in experienced cover.
But Eriksson departed his role as Leicester boss earlier this week, meaning the former Standard Liege, Marseille, Besiktas and Lens shot-stopper would not be remaining.
"These unhappy circumstances are what cost me a contract with Leicester City. I guess it just wasn't made to be," he told
Sportske Novosti.
"Now I don't know what I will do next. I have no plans.
"The offer to go on trial with the Foxes came out of nothing but I really wanted to stay there.
"Maybe I will now finish my career. We will see. If I will get some offers, then maybe I will go to one, but let's be fair - I don't have many years left in football."
