Leicester defender Wes Morgan was frustrated by the concession of a late goal in the 2-2 with struggling Burnley.

The home side led twice with goals from Jeffrey Schlupp and Riyad Mahrez, but Burnley hit back when Michael Kightly netted between those strikes and a stoppage-time free-kick from Ross Wallace.

Morgan said: “We’re feeling disappointed really. Obviously to concede in the last minute and not get all three points the boys are disappointed.

“But I suppose we can’t keep conceding goals and we need to rectify that in training.

“When we were 2-1 up they were getting on the ball and counter-attacking on us and creating a few half chances.

“They were getting closer and closer and starting to threaten more and more and eventually they did it they got the goal so it was one of those where we needed an extra goal to put the game to bed but credit to them they stuck in and they got that goal.”

And Foxes skipper Morgan conceded the result felt like a defeat, not just because Burnley struck their second goal so late, but with the match coming so soon after Leicester’s 5-3 victory at home to Manchester United.

Morgan said: “Yeah, absolutely. Before the game we looked at this one as one we definitely wanted to win and we started brightly, we got the goal and we were disappointed to concede again but credit to the boys we bounced back and got the 2-1 lead so to concede in the 96th minute was not good but we’ve got to keep our heads up high and come back stronger.

“It’s hard obviously to replicate a game like that but our performance against Man United speaks for itself.

“Everyone was surprised at how well we played and to obviously come up against a lesser team in Burnley there was an expectation that we should be winning but it wasn’t going to be as easy that and we know that and obviously this is the Premier League and no game is going to be easy but we need to get back to those high quality performances again and start winning games.”
