Gokhan Inler could make his full Premier League debut for Leicester City in the Midlands derby against Aston Villa, according to manager Claudio Ranieri.
The 31-year-old Switzerland attacker, who signed from Napoli before the transfer deadline, has featured just once off the bench against Tottenham and started in the Capital One Cup win over Bury.
Inler looked sharp during his country's defeat to England at Wembley earlier this week and both Ranieri and the player believe he is ready to start at the King Power stadium, live on Super Sunday at 4pm.
Ranieri told his pre-match press conference: "He played very, very well [for Switzerland]. I will think about it because I think he is ready.
"He understands the tempo and timing of the Premier League, and I think he could start. He is ready, but every time I think about the first XI the night before the match."
Inler said: "I am ready, I need it. I played 90 minutes [for Switzerland], which was great for me. Now I can concentrate for Leicester City and for Sunday against Aston Villa. I'm ready and I'll give my best.
"We must work hard all day to get fit. I saw the other players and they've also played a lot of games but for me it's important to play in high-level games so I can be ready.
"The manager decides who plays, but I'm ready and I want to play."
Leicester City v Aston Villa is live from 4pm on Sky Sports 1HD on Super Sunday
