LDV Vans Trophy holders Wrexham face a trip to League One side Blackpool in the first round of this season's competition.The first round draw, made by Tim Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain of Sky Sports' Soccer AM show, saw a number of interesting ties drawn on Saturday morning.
The Dragons defeated Southern Area finalists Southend United at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium last season, despite suffering relegation from League One at the season's end.
Denis Smith's side now face a tricky trip up to Bloomfield Road to face The Seasiders, while The Shrimpers will aim to repeat their journey to Cardiff with a first round tie at League Two club Rushden & Diamonds.
The Southern Area draw sees a repeat of another cup tie this season, as Bristol City travel to League Two side Barnet looking for revenge following their exit at home to The Bees in the Carling Cup last month.
League One leaders Brentford host Oxford United at Griffin Park, while Nottingham Forest face a tricky trip to Conference club Woking.
The Northern Area draw sees a Yorkshire derby between Barnsley and Doncaster Rovers, while League One high-flyers Huddersfield Town face a tricky tie at League Two strugglers Boston United.
The first round ties are to be played the week of October 17.
