Hull defender Michael Dawson was left feeling disappointed after suffering a last-minute defeat against his former club Tottenham on Sunday.

Despite taking an early lead and dominating the first 45 minutes, Hull conceded two second half goals to lose 2-1, after seeing Gaston Ramirez sent off.

However, Dawson did praise Tottenham hero Christian Eriksen who played a major role in the equaliser before netting an 90th minute winner.

Uruguayan Ramirez was dismissed by referee Craig Pawson on 51, when the midfielder petulantly lashed out after being nudged in the back by Jan Vertonghen.

Ten minutes later Tottenham were level when an Eriksen free-kick struck a post and Harry Kane converted the rebound from close range before the Dane snatched a late winner.

Ex-Spurs skipper Dawson said: "Everybody knows what it meant to me to play in this game, so to lose in the way we did was a massive disappointment – especially after the first half.

"The red card changed the game. It was going to be one-way traffic from there because Tottenham have some top players.

"Christian's free-kick is something I used to see on a daily basis and then his finish in the last minute was top class.

"But at the end of the day we've come away with no points, so it is massively disappointing."
