Leeds striker Souleymane Doukara is delighted with comparisons between his Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month winning strike and the legendary effort hit by Tony Yeboah.
Moments after coming on as a substitute against Nottingham Forest at Elland Road, Doukara watched a looping header drop towards him on the edge of the box before arrowing a thunderous effort into the top-left corner.
The strike brought back memories of a goal scored by Yeboah against Liverpool in 1995, and saw him win the monthly award with 69 per cent of the public vote, while Doukara said he will hopefully net many more like it for Leeds.
"It was one of the best goals I've ever scored," he told Sky Sports. "I was very happy about it because it was a nice strike and I hope I score many more like it!
"Tony Yeboah's was good as well, both goals are similar but I can't say mine or his was better, it's up for the fans to decide. Everyone has their own opinion."
Doukara has played a key role in Leeds' impressive form this season after the club spent several years languishing in the lower reaches of the Sky Bet Championship.
Heading into the game against fellow promotion rivals Sheffield Wednesday - live on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports Mix on Saturday - Leeds find themselves firmly embedded in the top six and dreaming of a potential return to the Premier League.
"We are playing well and taking it game by game to try and finish the season like we're doing now," Doukara said. "We still have 13 games left and we'll try to keep going, we have some tough games coming up and we need to stay focused.
"I've been here for two-and-a-half years and I'm very happy here. It's the dream of everybody [to play in the Premier League], but we need to keep working hard.
"It's going to be a tough game, but we're playing at home and we'll try to win. Sheffield Wednesday will come here with determination so we need to stay focused."
Leeds also finally seem to have settled on a manager in Garry Monk after several years of hiring and firing under the ownership of Massimo Cellino, and Doukara was full of praise for the work the former Swansea boss has done at Elland Road.
"He's a good manager and we're working hard with him every day," he said. "He's doing well, everyone's listening to him and we'll continue like that.
"He's managed in the Premier League and maybe has more experience than [previous Leeds] managers.
"There's been [a good atmosphere] for the last two years but we didn't get the results. Now everybody is together and we're happy with that."
