Leeds vs Nottingham Forest and Burnley vs West Ham make it a huge weekend in the Premier League relegation fight - so who will stay up?

This Premier League weekend sees two relegation six-pointers at the bottom of the table.

It all starts at Friday Night Football as 16th-placed Leeds host 17th-placed Nottingham Forest - with both teams starting this weekend level on points with a six-point cushion above the bottom three.

Then on Saturday, 19th-placed Burnley host 18th-placed West Ham in a do-or-die game for the Clarets. Burnley are already 11 points off safety with 14 games to go and are five points behind the Hammers.

Leeds and Farke at a crossroads in their season

Nottingham Forest at home. This is no doubt the biggest game of Leeds' season - and for Daniel Farke's reign at Elland Road. Both club and manager are at a crossroads.

The German head coach has done well to quieten the early-season doubters, and has given himself hope in his bid to prove he is not just an elite Championship manager. He can be a successful Premier League one, too.

But what Farke and Leeds have insisted since the start of the season is: as long as they are on a point-per-game basis, then the club will be fine.

Leeds currently have 26 points from 24 games so they are above the point-per-game mark. But if they don't win against Forest on Friday, then it may get a little bit tense.

That's because after this weekend, Leeds go away to Chelsea and Aston Villa, then host Manchester City. Leeds could dip under that mark by the end of the month - and then questions will be asked again.

Can new boy Lucca help Forest's conversion?

We could see a Nottingham Forest debut for new striker Lorenzo Lucca at Elland Road, who signed on loan from Napoli in January.

Sean Dyche will be wanting the 6ft 7in Italian to help boost Forest's goal conversion, which ranks among the worst in the Premier League. They are 19th for goals (24), 19th for shot conversion (8.5 per cent) and failed to score in the second most games (11 of 24 - only Wolves failed to score in more).

Morgan Gibbs-White remains their top league scorer this season (6) - keeping him in the summer arguably their best business - and he could go level with Bryan Roy (24) as Forest's second highest goalscorer in the Premier League.

The club's current highest scorer in the league is Chris Wood (37), but injury has restricted his minutes and goals (two) this season. Forest's other strikers - Igor Jesus, Taiwo Awoniyi and Arnaud Kalimuendo - have managed just three goals between them, so Lucca's arrival is timely and, hopefully, fruitful.

But despite struggles in front of goal, Forest are on their longest unbeaten run of the season (4) and have won four of their last seven away Premier League games, including the last two.

Dyche's first league win in charge was against Leeds on November 9 too, and he will be looking for the same again as his ship steadying mission continues on Friday Night Football.

Hammers have hope - but must bounce back from Chelsea blow

West Ham's survival prospects looked transformed at half-time on Saturday, with Nuno Espirito Santo's side 2-0 up at Chelsea and looking set to back up consecutive wins over Tottenham and Sunderland to give themselves a platform to pull out of and away from the drop zone.

But a painful collapse to their London rivals - capped off by that crushing blow of an Enzo Fernandez injury-time clincher - has ramped up the relegation battle pressure once more. Now, the trip to Burnley looks like a must-win.

The Hammers can take encouragement from their recent performances, though. There has been an increased threat in attacking areas, with Crysencio Summerville hitting form, while deadline day loanee Axel Disasi could help address the persistent defensive issue from crosses, which once again emerged at Stamford Bridge.

Fixtures with Man Utd, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Fulham, Man City and Aston Villa follow the trip to Turf Moor. With that in mind, getting points on the board on Saturday is essential.

It's now or never for Burnley to end their 15-game winless run in the Premier League and kickstart their fight for survival as Scott Parker looks for a reaction to their woeful 3-0 defeat at Sunderland.

The relegation alarm bells were ringing long before their embarrassing performance in the north east on Monday, with Saturday's home fixture against West Ham a crucial opportunity to close the gap to safety.

After draws with Tottenham, Liverpool and Man Utd, plus a victory over Millwall in the FA Cup, Burnley "fell way short" in doing "the real basics" at Sunderland.

"I didn't see this performance coming," added Parker. "As a club that's fighting for survival, it's not acceptable," said defender Kyle Walker.

So will there be a reaction? There wasn't one in the January transfer window to help Burnley's plight as only James Ward-Prowse arrived on loan and he won't even be able to face his parent club on Saturday.

Burnley need to prove they aren't preparing for the Championship already.
