Simon Grayson is weighing up whether to hand Davide Somma a new contract at Leeds United after being impressed by the striker's loan spell at Lincoln City.
Somma has made a solitary substitute's appearance in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy since joining Leeds earlier in the season and was sent out on loan to Chesterfield.
He is now enjoying a loan stint at Lincoln and has scored seven goals in 11 appearances for the League Two strugglers.
Leeds have the option to keep the South African for a further 12 months and manager Grayson has praised Somma's form for Lincoln.
Grayson said: "He's done well at Lincoln. He's got some good goals, he's helped Lincoln get results and we're all delighted with his progress.
"He needed experience in league football and he's shown a lot of quality."
Meanwhile, Lincoln defender Paul Green will miss the club's final three matches this season with a suspected broken metatarsal.
Green, who is out of contract in the summer, suffered the injury during the 1-0 defeat at Shrewsbury on Saturday and is out for six weeks.
