Leeds boss confident of automatic promotion

Simon Grayson is confident Leeds will not fall at the final hurdle and miss out on winning automatic promotion from League One. Grayson watched his side blow the chance to return to the second tier of English football after they lost 1-0 against Charlton at The Valley on Saturday. Millwall's defeat at Tranmere meant victory for Leeds would have seen them join Norwich playing in the Championship next season. However, they were left reeling as Richard Naylor deflected Akpo Sodje's late header into his own net. Nevertheless, Grayson is confident they can beat Bristol Rovers on the final day of the season at Elland Road to go up.

Destiny

He said: "Our destiny is still in our own hands. I was disappointed with our game and with results going our way at Tranmere, but we have a great chance next week. "If anyone would have offered us the chance to win promotion on the last day of the season at home, we would have taken it. "It will be some game. We will try to prepare and get as focused as possible because next weekend can change the club's destiny and future. "I anticipated Millwall getting something, but now it means we have one game to win. "In effect, it is a one game season, but we have the determination to see it through."
