Defender set to return to Elland Road
Skysports.com understands Leeds United are to sign Preston North End defender Neill Collins on a three-year deal.
The 26-year-old played nine matches for United in the 2009/10 campaign after joining on loan in March and helped the club earn promotion to the Championship.
Collins admitted in May that he would like to return to Elland Road for the new season and he is now on the brink of securing his wish.
The former Scotland Under 21 international was told he did not feature in the plans of Preston boss Darren Ferguson and his chances of first-team football decreased on Tuesday with the arrival of Wayne Brown and Craig Morgan at Deepdale.
Collins is understood to have successfully undergone a medical with Leeds, while a contract and personal terms have also been settled, and the move is expected to soon be officially announced.
