Nottingham Forest and Leeds United have been fined by the FA for failure to control their players.

Championship duo punished for City Ground confrontation

Nottingham Forest and Leeds United have been fined £12,500 and £7,500 respectively by the Football Association for failure to control their players. The charge relates to an unsightly incident in the recent meeting between the two sides at the City Ground. During a 1-1 draw on Trentside, both sets of players became embroiled in a mass brawl in front of the away supporters. The skirmish was sparked by Forest defender Chris Gunter stamping on the foot of Leeds winger Sanchez Watt. The Welsh full-back has already been retrospectively punished for his part in the melee, having been handed a three-match ban. Both Gunter and Watt were only awarded yellow cards on the day, but the Forest man has faced further sanction for having initiated the angry confrontation.
